The Graduate Program in Endocrinology was established in 1974, initially offering a Master's degree, through the efforts of Prof. Dr. Jaime Rodrigues. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. João Gabriel Hosannah Cordeiro continued the Graduate Program, under his leadership forming one of Brazil's first Masters in this field, Prof. Marilia Martins Guimarães, and initiating the structuring of the Doctorate course in Endocrinology at UFRJ, graduating the 1st Doctor, Prof. Mário Vaisman.

We take pride in having among our permanent faculty Prof. Marilia and Prof. Mário, who have contributed to the training of dozens of researchers in Endocrinology, making significant contributions to various national and international institutions.
