Cristiane Alves Villela Nogueira graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1985), obtained her Master's in Clinical Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1992), and her Ph.D. in Medicine (Infectious and Parasitic Diseases) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2000). She was a Visiting Research Professor CAPES-Fulbright at the Liver Center of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard University, Boston, from December 2008 to March 2009. She is currently a Full Professor of Clinical Medicine/Hepatology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Gastroenterology, specifically in Hepatology, focusing on the following topics: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) with an interest in prognostic markers for hepatic, cardiovascular, and extra-hepatic neoplasia outcomes, non-invasive fibrosis markers, genetic polymorphisms, and prognosis of NAFLD, care line in MASLD. Viral Hepatitis: Hard outcomes related to Hepatitis C post-treatment with direct-acting antivirals, care line in viral hepatitis. She is a Scientist of Our State of FAPERJ (2019-2023), a Research Productivity Fellow of CNPq, and a Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD).
