Leandro Miranda Alves holds a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a Master's in Sciences (Cell Biology) from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, a Ph.D. in Sciences (Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a Postdoctoral fellowship in Neuroendocrinology from the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry. He is currently an Associate Professor II at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a Permanent Advisor for the Graduate Program in Endocrinology at the Faculty of Medicine and the Graduate Program in Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He is also an Evaluator for the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira/Ministry of Education, a Member of the Brazilian Society of Cell Biology, the Latin American Thyroid Society, and the European Society of Endocrinology. He was a Young Scientist of Our State (JCNE-FAPERJ) (2014-2017), a Research Productivity Fellow of CNPQ - Level 2 (2018-2020), CNE-FAPERJ (2021-present), a Research Productivity Fellow of CNPQ - Level 2 (2022-present), a Member of the Ethics Committee in Research of the Clementino Fraga Filho University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2022-present), and Deputy Director of Extension at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at UFRJ (2023-present). His main research lines include Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Endocrine Disruptors' Action and Cellular and Molecular Bases of Pituitary Tumors.
